What happens in the workshop
It is approx 6 hours long (with a lunch break).
Anything that is planned may change depending on the needs of those in the room but the plan is…
Body work – usually stretches and a lot of checking in with how your body feels.
Breath work – releasing or engaging your abdomonials and connecting this to your voice.
Individual work with Rebecca with the group’s support – each person will explore how to find their authentic and confident voice. This work varies from person to person but it may include exploring any of the following and more.
Much, much more.
Work on tension release in the jaw, tongue.
Soft palate work (velum)
Resonance play
Expression
Laryngeal massage from Rebecca or on yourself.
Looking at stories we tell ourselves about our voices and how we are allowed to vocally.
Your Spoken Voice Nemesis
In the afternoon we explore each person’s “spoken out loud nemesis”. This is the very thing that you are afraid to say out loud, with confidence.
For many people their greatest discomfort is speaking their name out loud to a group. *
For others it may be reading out loud their creative work or giving a formal presentation.
By the end of the workshop you will confidently own your spoken voice by saying to the group the very thing that you are most afraid to say.
And whilst you will be being supremely brave you will feel safe and held throughout the process.
